Custom bronze sculptures by Simon Morris

Along with the love of the sea, marine life and scuba diving in British Columbia and around the world, Simon Morris is recognized world-wide as having the ability to create amazing custom bronze sculptures and statues.

Already known for making the dive sites at Saltery Bay in British Columbia and Sunset House in Grand Cayman very popular with his custom bronze mermaid statues, Morris has also been commissioned to create numerous other works of art.

Our friends at PADI commissioned Simon to create life-size bronze busts of their co-founders, John Cronin and Ralph Erickson, for placement in their Founders' Hall in California.

And "Ocean Futures", unveiled by Jacques-Yves Cousteau in New Orleans, was auctioned to raise funds for the environmental organization of the same name.

Simon's art has also been represented by P.A.D.I.'s Project A.W.A.R.E. Foundation to raise funds for deserving environmental concerns, and a life size bronze sculpture of Captain Larsen was commissioned by the Vancouver Maritime Museum and installed on the port foredeck of the RCMP Vessel St. Roch in July of 2006.

Simon also creates figurative sculpture depicting classic seafarers, scuba divers, etc., including "Tradition" unveiled by HRH Prince Edward in Georgetown, Grand Cayman on May 10, 2004 - the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the Cayman Islands by Columbus.

And our favorite here at CoolDives, “After the Potlatch” was commissioned for placement on a private property in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, representing a chief of the Salish Sea in contemplation after a traditional Potlatch ceremony.

The hat he is wearing is based on a carved cedar hat, circa 1850, depicting the power of the Orca.
