Some facts about Victoria - things you should consider for your dive holiday:

• Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia and is located on Vancouver Island, which was recently named North America’s Best Island for the sixth consecutive year in a Condé Nast Traveler reader’s choice survey

• Victoria has some of British Columbia’s premiere scuba diving locations and has easy access to many more fantastic dive sites on Vancouver Island

• Vancouver Island is 500 kilometers long (about 300 miles), is separated from the mainland of British Columbia by the Strait of Georgia to the east and the Juan de Fuca Strait to the south, and has many wonderful beaches, attractions, accommodations, restaurants, and of course, dive sites

• Victoria, British Columbia is a modern city with a quaint, British themed, small town atmosphere

• Victoria, British Columbia began as a fur trading post back in 1843 for the Hudson’s Bay Company but now is a major center for tourism, scuba diving and home to many government offices
