Skookumchuck Rapids on the Sunshine Coast

This is a fantastic drift dive for properly trained and experienced divers, where currents of up to 16 knots can whisk you past some incredible, colorful underwater scenery. You can expect to see floors covered with multi-colored anemones, sea stars, hydroids, giant barnacles, and sponges, along with lots of rock fish, kelp greenlings, Puget Sound king crabs, nudibranch, sunflower stars, Giant ling cod, cabezon, and much more.

One of the favorite dives in the area is Skookumchuck Narrows (which means strong waters), which is a narrow, shallow passage that separates the Sechelt Peninsula and the mainland.
