Sunshine Coast Hotel - This Resort Is Great!

In our opinion, the nicest Sunshine Coast Hotel and the best place to stay for your diving and other holiday adventures in BC is the beautiful Sunshine Coast Resort and Marina.

The owner of the Resort and Marina at Pender Harbour, Ralph Linmann, along with his wife Silka and their hard-working team of employees, have worked non-stop to impress their visitors since Ralph first bought the resort in 1993.

Their European style and passion for great customer service is very evident here.

From its early days as an RV park, the Sunshine Coast Resort now includes something to fit every divers budget - economy hotel type rooms, very nice and clean one bedroom apartments, and luxury one bedroom suites in the newer building, topped off by an amazing two bedroom penthouse suite.

And brand new in 2007, there are now three very, very nice 1100 square foot vacation chalets, all with completely private views, private outdoor hot-tubs and BBQ's on their individual private 650 square foot decks, in room spas and steam showers, saunas, flat-screen tv's, and much more.

You might not want to leave for your Sunshine Coast dives?

The amenities are also perfect for your active, outdoor lifstyle.

There are nearby restaurants, ocean kayak and power boat rentals at the adjoining marina, a water trampoline, scenic wildlife tour boats that depart regularly from the marina, walking trails, swimming pool, hot tub, beautiful views, beautiful sunsets and more.

We have partnered with the best local Sunshine Coast dive charter operators and this great west coast resort to offer great dive packages on the Sunshine Coast.

And during the early fall to late spring seasons when scuba diving in British Columbia is at it's best, you can receive a free night stay at the resort when you book for three or more nights.

Even better - their discounted rates start September 9th and go through til next spring (exept for the Christmas holiday season).

They are very 'diver friendly' and are anxious to have more divers stay and play on the Sunshine Coast.

That means, at least 8 dives at a great price at a beautiful dive resort!

And there are many protected dive sites with fairly quick and easy access in the area - see below...

Click the link to have a look at their new luxury chalets - great for your diving group, family holiday or romantic get-away.

Remember to ask for the CoolDives scuba diving package pricing when you speak to Ralph to book your Sunshine Coast Hotel diving adventure.

Scuba Diving Near The Sunshine Coast Hotel

The Sunshine Coast is a unique spot.

It is considered part of the mainland of British Columbia, but it is a 40 minute BC Ferry ride away.

As I mention throughout the site, our ferries can be booked up so I recommend paying the $17.50 fee to book your spot there.

On the way back to the lower mainland, however, the ferry is on a first-come first leave basis so plan on getting to the terminal early.

Four well known and favorite BC dives that are within easy reach of the Sunshine Coast Hotel for you to consider include:

1.)Skookumchuck Rapids

2.)Former HMCS Chaudiere

3.)Saltery Bay - Mermaid Cove (Watch out for the Mermaid)

4.)Fearney Bluffs

I have already included some information about these Sunshine Coast dive sites on this website.

Northwest Diver magazine picked this area as one of their favorite secret Top 10 British Columbia dive sites.

There are also numerous other very nice sites in the area and close to the resort, such as:

- Nelson Rock (reef dive with loads of giant ling cod, cabezon, sea urchins, anemones, and loads more)

- Charles Island (steep drop close to shore with wolf eels, octupus, anemones, sea pens, and loads of cracks and crevices with colorful marine life)

- Irvine's Landing (an old nearby settlement from the steamship days where old plates, bottles and other relics may still be found along the bottom, along with a good variety of marine life)

As well as many more discovered and undiscovered areas.

As always, I recommend you book with a local dive charter operator. Contact us for a reference if you wish.

The Sunshine Coast visibility can be well over 100' on a good day, and there are many dives for all levels of experience.

If you plan ahead, you can add your deep diver, wreck diver, or dry suit specialty certification on as a trip bonus!

And we can prepare a dive vacation package for you with selected dives and a stay at the Sunshine Coast Hotel.

If you want to rent a boat and do your own diving (with a buddy) then you can contact the Sunshine Coast Hotel directly but be sure to ask Ralph for the current CoolDives promotional offer.
