Northwest Dive Expo
April 25-26, 2009 at the Tacoma, Washington Convention Center
The Northwest Dive Expo is the largest and most highly anticipated dive and travel show in the Pacific Northwest.
As much as I enjoyed my time at Vancouver's dive show in January, this show is even bigger and more exciting.
Their weekend-long dive and travel exposition focuses on everything under the emerald green waters of the Pacific Northwest and beyond, including:
- how fun and easy it is to breathe underwater and to learn how to scuba dive
- fun, educational diving information seminars
- Travel and dive site information for the PNW, including Washington, Oregon and British Columbia, as well as warmer dive destinations

The Northwest Dive Expo is a full weekend of fun, exciting, and informative activities for divers and non-divers alike.

Underwater Treasure Hunt
Divers can search for prizes at Owen Beach in Tacoma on Friday April 24, 2009.
This underwater treasure hunt is bigger and better than ever this year.
Every golf ball represents a great prize - such as thousands of dollars in exotic trips, local charters, drysuits, wetsuits, regulators, computers and more.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the dive starts at 11:30 a.m.
Contestants must pick up their prizes at the Northwest Dive Expo.

Underwater Photography Contest
Show the Dive & Travel Expo your best underwater shots and be eligible to win great prizes.
All amateurs are eligible to enter this terrific contest that’s packed with prizes.
Entry deadline is April 1st.
Winners will be announced at Dive & Travel Expo April 25 & 26.

Free Information Seminars
Meet and learn with guest speakers from all over the country who present the hottest topics in scuba diving.
Get tips from professionals on underwater photography and videography, update your diving skills and discover great new certification options.
Learn what organizations are doing to rehabilitate Puget Sound and how you can get involved.
Examples of the seminars are as follows:
John Chatterton, one of the world’s most accomplished and well known wreck divers, and Deep Sea Detective Series co-host for the Discovery Channel, will teach a series of technical diving seminars. (Limited availability)
Rebreather expert and author Jeff Bozanic will teach several lectures and workshops on rebreathers – how to use them and how to improve your rebreathers experience. Get the most out of your rebreathers. (Limited availability)

Over 250 Exhibit Booths
Representatives from over 250 Pacific Northwest dive shops, manufacturers, resort owners, dive travel managers are there to provide you with information and answer your questions.
There will also be samples of the latest in new products from leading manufacturers who produce the world’s best dive equipment.
And of course FREE SCUBA DIVING
Non-divers can try scuba diving free in their demo pool.
Get a free lesson from scuba professionals in their large indoor heated pool.
All equipment (including wetsuits) will be provided.
Just bring a good attitude and be ready to learn to love diving!
And for teens, the Deep Ambitions Career Fair
An Aquatic Career Fair will be held on Saturday, April 25th from 10am-2pm.
Deep Ambitions is a 4-hour education based enrichment program designed for middle and high school students (12-18) that will provide an opportunity for students to learn about and experience scuba diving and aquatic-related careers.
*Parental consent forms must be signed at the time of registration.
