When Devil Fish Come Out To Play - Adventures of an Abalone Diver by Cal Smith and really enjoyed the concept and stories about diving in British Columbia so we will mention it here.The book is self-published (which probably explains why there are a number of small typos to fix Cal) and is not a picture book or a 'how to' or 'where to' dive in British Columbia type of book (that's what our website is for!) However, the author was one of the early local diving pioneers and has written some interesting history about diving here, as well as some very entertaining stories. If you are a little nervous about diving under our dark waters though, you might want your 'buddy' to sit with you while you read some of the stories - and remember not to hold your breath!
